Experiencing an India Travel Adventure by Ashmira Shah

[Jun 18, 2008]

India is one of the most unique destinations for travellers the world over, with it's vast diversity in everything including geography, climate, peoples, wildlife, cuisine and even language.

In fact, the subcontinent, as India is sometimes referred to as, is a great draw for travellers looking for a unique holiday experience. India often rattles, even shocks, many visitors, thanks to the great contrast between every day life in this vast country compared to most of the western world, including everything from the traffic to the food or climate. However, the majority of tourists do fall in love with this mystical country and it's charms.

So what are these charms and attractions ?

Firstly, India has an ancient and well documented history going back thousands of years. The fact that this great past is reflected in everything from world famous monuments such as the Taj Mahal, to literature, dance and music, makes travel to India a journey of historical discovery.

Secondly, India is blessed with a rich diversity of nature including geographical features and wildlife. The subcontinent has virtually every vegetation and geographical zone ranging from snow capped mountain ranges to vast deserts and thick forests. India is also the only country in the world where you can see both the Lion and Tiger in the wild, and while Tigers are a particular attraction for travel to India, the country is also blessed with numerous other animal and bird species to lure the wildlife and nature enthusiast.
